Tortured by the need to hide his homosexuality, Darby Crash kept his edgy persona and at the same time retreated into the world of drugs and alcohol. Lexicon Devil takes a look at his story and the story of the bandhe shared with Pat Smear, Don Bolles and Lorna Doom through the eyes of many of the people who were there. At the same time the movie takes a look at the flash of brilliance that was The Los Angeles punk of the late 1970\'s (which has long taken a historical back-seat to New York and London) and explores some of the other brilliant bands that emerged including X, The Screamers, The Weirdos and the next wave of hardcore bands that took the changing L.A. sound to the rest of the country\n\nInterviews include, Faith Baker Sr. (Darby\'s mother), Faith Baker Jr. (Darby\'s sister), Joan Jett, Flea, DonBolles, Geza X, Paul Roessler (The Screamers), Will Amato, Cliff Roman (The Weirdos), Alice Bag (The Bags), Mike Watt (The Minutemen, Firehose), Kira Roessler (Black Flag), Keith Morris (The Circle Jerks), Chris D.
